Black sand beach, popular with locals. Five pavilions often used for social
gatherings. NO SWIMMING! Extremely dangerous conditions. During the
tsunami of 1946, this beach was covered with over thirty feet of water.

One of the most awe inspiring beaches in Hawaii. The longest black sand
beach on the island, with cascading waterfalls on either side and sheer
cliffs enclosing the valley. Access only by four-wheel drive or a steep hike
down. Great surfing beach but dangerous undercurrents are present.
